Compliance

Last updated: July 15, 2026

This page is maintained by Kivara Neurosciences to answer common compliance questions about our operations. It describes our current practices and is not an independent certification. Definitive terms are provided in signed agreements with partners, customers, and covered entities.

HIPAA

Kivara Neurosciences is HIPAA-compliant. We maintain administrative, physical, and technical safeguards designed to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of Protected Health Information (PHI) that we receive, create, maintain, or transmit on behalf of Covered Entities. Kivara is prepared to act as a Business Associate under HIPAA and will execute a Business Associate Agreement (BAA) with covered entities and other business associates prior to the exchange of PHI. To request a BAA, contact us using the details below.

CLIA

Kivara's clinical testing is performed in a CLIA-certified partner laboratory operating under the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments of 1988 (CLIA). Testing workflows, quality controls, proficiency testing, and personnel requirements are executed under the partner laboratory's CLIA certificate. Kivara itself is not a CLIA-certified laboratory; specific certificate information for the performing laboratory is available on request.

COLA Accreditation

The partner laboratory performing Kivara's clinical testing is also accredited by COLA, an independent accreditor recognized by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). COLA accreditation reflects ongoing review of laboratory quality systems, personnel qualifications, and testing performance against nationally recognized standards.

Shared Responsibility

Kivara relies on established cloud and infrastructure providers to host portions of our website, communications, and analytics. Those providers are responsible for the security of their underlying platforms; Kivara is responsible for how we configure and use them, and for the practices described on this page and in our Privacy Policy. Customers and partners remain responsible for their own regulatory obligations, including obtaining any patient authorizations required before sharing PHI with Kivara.

Privacy and Data Protection

Our collection, use, retention, and disclosure of information — including any PHI processed under a Business Associate Agreement — is described in our Privacy Policy. Requests to access, correct, or delete personal information can be sent to the contact address below.
